The 2012 Transplant Games of America are finally here! From July 27th – August 1st, Team Maryland, comprised of twenty-nine transplant recipients, living donors, and donor family members will travel to Grand Rapids, Michigan to represent Maryland as they compete in Olympic-style events. Team Maryland started out strong at the Transplant Games strong yesterday with seven team members earning medals in the following events:
Emily Biondi, kidney recipient - Silver Medal
Norm Biondi, living kidney donor - Silver Medal
Christa Gahagan, living donor - Silver Medal
June Fauver, team advocate - Bronze Medal
Ben Sledge, kidney recipient - Bronze Medal
Tina Sledge, team advocate - Bronze Medal
Swimming – 200M IM
Hilary Hoagwood, liver recipient – Gold Medal
Congrats Emily, Norm, Christa, June, Ben, Tina and Hilary, as well as everyone else who competed today! Way to make Maryland proud!
